Visiting Hearst Castle

Wow – this summer has been a whirlwind! I can’t believe it’s already over and Fall is already here! I want to share photos from one of my summer highlights: Hearst Castle. This year for my husband and my wedding anniversary, we took a road trip down to Pismo Beach to go ATV riding to fulfill his heart’s desire. On the way back, we stopped at Hearst Castle in San Simeon (to fulfill my heart’s desire) and what fun we had! I LOVED every minute of or visit! It felt like a photographer’s paradise – such a gorgeous destination! Perched on top of a hill with a ocean backdrop, this castle is quite a treasure. Here are some of my favorite photos from our visit.
If you are ever in the San Simeon area, Hearst Castle is definitely worth a visit (learn more here: http://www.hearstcastle.org/). We did the Grand Rooms tour but if there had been more time, I would have loved to see everything. And maybe one day, we’ll make it back for the Evening Tour. As much as I loved exploring the grounds by day, I know there would be an extraordinary magic at night. What a special treat this was to experience! I hope you enjoy my photos!

September 25, 2013Beautiful set Naphy. My favorites are all the ones with the view of the sea from the house and the path through the garden photo. I agree, its such an amazing piece of coast. I appreciate this little tour, have always wanted to do this one too! Also look ing forward to the ATV photos!
cheers!

September 25, 2013Thanks Diana – I totally felt like I was in some beautiful city above the Mediterranean while wandering around the grounds – it was gorgeous! You and your camera would definitely have fun 🙂
I posted some ATV photos on facebook Sunday – now that was another adventure! I had no idea I would have liked it so much! The trick for me was going slow and stopping every 5 minutes for photos!

September 28, 2013I agree with Diana, what an amazing view of the pacific! I also loved the picture you took with the stairs in the foreground, and the bougainvillea and ocean in the background. I would love to have any of these pictures on my wall. You have a great eye Naphy!
